Overview

SmartMedHx is an advanced system that simplifies medical interviews for both examinees and healthcare providers. By combining voice and text-based technologies, it collects examinee information efficiently, generating accurate reports and saving time for doctors. The system integrates easily into existing medical workflows, ensuring smooth documentation and data collection.

Problem Statement

Collecting accurate examinee information can be time-consuming and error-prone. Doctors often spend valuable time documenting details instead of focusing on care. SmartMedHx addresses this by automating the process, enabling quicker and more accurate medical interviews. It reduces administrative workload while ensuring examinee data is collected accurately and securely.

Complexities We Faced

SmartMedHx presented its own set of challenges. First, we had to ensure it could accurately recognize medical terminology spoken in various accents and speech patterns, which wasn’t an easy task. Next, we needed to develop an interface that seamlessly fit into the daily workflows of medical professionals, making it intuitive and efficient to use.

We also focused on building a system that could document information quickly and accurately, minimizing the risk of errors. At the same time, protecting sensitive examinee data was a top priority, so we implemented robust security measures to keep it safe.

We implemented OTP-based authentication for every session to ensure access is granted only to verified examinees, across both email and SMS.

Smart Session Management

Handling disconnections and idle time was critical. We engineered pause/resume capabilities and auto-end logic to ensure examinees could rejoin without data loss.

Live Transcription & Sync

Building a real-time transcription engine that was both fast and medically accurate required fine-tuning for latency, noise handling, and dynamic rendering during interviews.

Role-Based Access Architecture

We developed a multi-tier access model to allow staff, providers, and admins to view and act on interview data within defined scopes — ensuring both control and compliance.
